
Bears Complete Play At Babs Steffens Invitational

After a long month of March practicing indoors, the Brown women's golf team traveled to Deland, Florida during Spring Break to compete in the Babs Steffens Invitational. The Bears placed 11th with a 54-hole 981 at the par 72, 5907 yard Victoria Hills Golf Club.
St. Leo ran away with the team championship with a three-round 880, outdistancing Boston University (898) by 18 shots, followed by Stetson (899), Dartmouth (900), Charleston Southern (903), Seminole State (909), Elon (912), Xavier (923), Butler (931), Florida Atlantic (934) and Brown (981).
Junior Sienna Chapman (Racine, WI) paced the Bears and placed 44th individually with a 54-hole 237 on rounds of 76-82-79. Junior Christine Kim (San Jose, CA), a two-time All-Ivy competitor for the Bears, shot 86-78-82—246.
Sophomore Elizabeth Doykan (Houston, TX) was close behind after shooting 83-83-81—247, while freshman Madeleine Garay (LoJolla, CA) shot 90-82-86—258. Freshman Grace Daly (New York, NY) shot scores of 90 and 79.
Coach Danielle Griffith's team will stay in Florida and compete in the Harvard Invitational, March 31 – April 2, at the Oakes Golf Club in Sarasota, Florida.
