Sasha Banks Wins Individual Title; Bears place 6th at Low Country Intercollegiate

Hilton Head, S.C. - Brown freshman Sasha Banks (Rancho Santa Fe, CA) captured the individual championship at the Low Country Intercollegiate, winning medalist honors with a 36-hole 146 at the par 72, 5922 yard Moss Creek Golf Club. The Bears placed sixth as a team with a two-day 622 on rounds of 311-311.
Bethune-Cookman broke the tournament's team scoring record to win the championship, carding a winning total of 35-over-par 611. The Wildcats began the day two shots behind first-round leader Chattanooga and overtook the Mocs by three strokes with a final-round 19-over 307. Gardener-Webb placed third at 617, followed by Appalachian State (619), William & Mary (620), Brown (622), Dalton State (624), South Carolina Beaufort (631), SCAD-Savannah (636), Seton Hall (636), Longwood (641), Presby (643), Bucknell (646), Navy (648), High Point (650), USC Upstate (653) and Citadel (669).
Banks matched the tournament's individual scoring record to take medalist honors. Banks posted the only under-par round of the two-day tournament with a 1-under 71 to come from three shots back for the title. Banks, who shot an opening round 75, topped Chattanooga's Emily McLennan and BCU's Yudika Rodriguez by two shots, tying the 36-hole record of 2-over-par 146.
Bears' junior Rosanna Lederhausen (Hinsdale, IL) also posted a Top 10 finish, placing 9th individually on rounds of 77-76—153. Sophomore Christine Kim (San Jose, CA), the defending Ivy League Champion, came in at 163 on rounds of 78-85, while senior Lauren Flynn (Milton, MA) shot 81-82—163 for the Bears. Freshman Elizabeth Doykan (Houston, TX) also scored for the Bears, shooting 85-82—167.
