
Women's Hockey Falls 5-0 at Dartmouth

HANOVER, N.H. – The Brown women's hockey team was defeated 5-0 at Dartmouth on Saturday afternoon at Thompson Arena.
Dartmouth (5-16-3, 5-10-3 ECAC) took a 1-0 lead 3:24 into the first period when Lindsey Allen's shot was saved, but the rebound quickly bounced off of a Brown defender into the net for the games first score. Sophomore Julianne Landry (Hanover, Mass.) concluded the opening period with 15 saves. The Big Green held a 16-5 shot advantage in the stanza and was 0-for-1 on the power play in the period's lone infraction.
In the second period, Brown (3-19-3, 1-14-3 ECAC) went on the power play at 8:14 and recorded two quality shots on goal but could not net the tying goal. Dartmouth went on a power play of its own at 12:51 and scored shortly after at 12:59 when Kennedy Ottenbreit registered the goal for a 2-0 lead. Eleni Tebano was credited with the assist. The Big Green finished the period holding an 8-3 lead in shots.
Laura Stacey netted Dartmouth's third goal at 7:24 of the third period to bring the Big Green's lead to 3-0.
The Bears had a 5-on-3 advantage at 15:47 but were unable to score at the end of the penalty. With one more Dartmouth player left in the box, the Bears pulled Landry until the Big Green scored an empty net goal from Stacey at 17:37. Ailish Forfar scored a power-play goal at 19:57 for the final score of the game.
Landry ended the game with 33 saves while Robyn Chemago finished with 13 stops.
Dartmouth went 2-for-4 on the power play while Brown was 0-for-5. The Big Green ended with a 38-13 shot advantage.
The Bears will next return home for their final weekend at Meehan Auditorium for the 2015-16 season, hosting Cornell on Friday, Feb. 12 for a 7:00 p.m. puck drop and then welcoming Colgate on Saturday, Feb. 13 for a 4:00 p.m. contest. Saturday will be the team's Senior Day with a brief ceremony to honor seniors Hunter Davis, Kelly Micholson and Alli Rolandelli prior to the start of the game.
