PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Senior Will Cross (Nashville, Tenn.) had two goals and one assist and Louis Zingas (Warren, Mich.) scored the game winner as the Brown men's soccer team topped Yale, 3-1, in Saturday's Ivy League contest on Senior Day at Stevenson-Pincince Field.

Brown (8-7-1, 3-2-1) broke a 1-1 game in the 89th minute when Zingas scored his second game winner of the season. Cross added his second goal of the game with 12 seconds remaining to seal the victory. Yale dropped to 3-9-2 overall and 1-4-1 in league play.

Erik Hanson (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) stopped two shots to earn the victory. Kees Schipper made five saves for the Bulldogs in the loss.

Brown outshot the Bulldogs by a 6-2 margin in the opening 45 minutes, led by Matthew Chow (Vancouver, British Columbia) and Nico Lozada (Dallas, Texas) with two shots apiece.

Cross put the Bears on the board at 56:56 with his first tally of the season. Rookie Jackson Goebel (Houston, Texas) moved the ball down the left side and flicked a cross in front of the net, where Cross finished to give the home team a one-goal advantage. Freshman Rodrigo D'Andrea (Sao Paulo, Brazil) also picked up an assist on the play.

Andrew Carton evened the score for Yale at 73:29 when he finished a shot following a rebound to make it 1-1.

Zingas scored the game-winning goal at 88:12 for his second tally of the season. After Cross kept the play alive in front, Quinn English (Milwaukee, Wis.) sent the ball to the right side of the box, where Zingas beat Schipper to push the Bears in front, 2-1.

Cross scored his second tally of the game at 89:48 as he won the ball from Schipper and hit the empty net to secure the win.

Brown outshot the Bulldogs, 16-10, and won the battle for corner kicks, 5-4.

The Bears will wrap up the regular season at Dartmouth next Saturday at 5 PM.
