PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown men's soccer team will take a break from Ivy League play on Wednesday night when the Bears host crosstown rival Providence College at Stevenson-Pincince Field (7 PM).

LAST TIME OUT
Brown played Columbia to a 1-1 draw on Saturday in the Ivy League opener for both teams. Matthew Chow scored the lone goal for Brown in the ninth minute for his team-high fourth tally of the season. Erik Hanson made one save in net for the Bears. Brown outshot Columbia, 13-10, while the two teams combined for 22 corner kicks.
SCOUTING PROVIDENCE
Providence College heads to College Hill at 5-5 overall and most recently downed Xavier, 2-1, in overtime on Saturday to snap a three-game skid. Julian Gressel leads the Friars with five goals and 11 points, while Danny Griffin has four goals and eight points. Ben Seguljic and Colin Miller have split time in net. Seguljic is 1-5 with a 1.45 goals against average and a .757 save percentage, while Miller is 4-0 with just one goal allowed and a .933 save percentage.
LAST TIME AGAINST PC
Jack Hagstrom scored the overtime game-winning goal to help Brown beat PC, 2-1, in last year's meeting between the two teams. The last three meetings between Brown and PC have gone to overtime.
COMMON OPPONENTS
Brown and Providence have faced five common opponents this season. Both teams earned wins over SMU and Georgia State, sharing Capital City Classic title honors, in addition to Holy Cross and Bryant. Brown also picked up a win in overtime at URI, while PC fell to the Rams in OT.
COMING UP
After PC, the Bears will return to Ivy play on Saturday when they visit Princeton at 7 PM.
