
Bears Finish Eighth at the Sixth Annual Brown Bear Invitational

East Providence, R.I. - Yale captured the team title, but Brown had a strong showing, placing eighth at the sixth Annual Brown Bears Golf Invitational held at the par-71 Metacomet Country Club Tuesday afternoon.
Individually, Boston University's Adela Cejnarova defeated Yale's Elisabeth Bernabe in a sudden victory playoff for medalist honors, chipping in on the first playoff hole (#1) for a par four. Each shot a two-over par 144 in the 36-hole event.
Yale's team score of 589 came on rounds of 295-294 at the windy Metacomet layout, earning a six shot victory over Princeton (595). Boston University placed third overall at 602, followed by Penn (614), Fairleigh Dickinson (622), Long Island University (624), Albany (626), Brown (627), Dartmouth (630), Quinnipiac (638), Central Connecticut (639), Hofstra (642), Sacred Heart (644), Hartford (652), Siena (661) and Holy Cross (731).
For the Bears, sophomore Rosanna Lederhausen earned a Top 10 finish, shooting 75-75—150 to place ninth individually. Freshman Christine Kim was close behind, finishing 13th individually on rounds of 74-77—151.
Freshman Sienna Chapman also had a strong tournament, shooting 79-80—159. Senior Cassandra Carothers shot 82-85—167, while junior Juliette Garay came in at 172 (84-88).
Several Brown players competed as individuals with senior Stephanie Hsieh leading the way on rounds of 80-77—157 to place 34th. Sophomore Lauren Flynn also excelled, shooting 79-79—158. Junior Julie Lyn shot 83-79—162, while freshman Mehan Hauptman came in at 86-84—170.
Coach Danielle Griffith's team is back in action again at the Dartmouth Match Play tournament, April 18-19 at the Woods Hole Country Club in Falmouth, Mass.
