INDIANAPOLIS – Brown University wrestling sophomore Justin Staudenmayer has joined senior Ophir Bernstein as a selection for the 2015 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships, the NCAA announced on Wednesday.
A native of Plymouth Meeting, Pa., Staudenmayer earned an at-large bid in the 157-pound weight class, qualifying for the NCAA Championships for the first time. Staudenmayer has recorded a 31-9 record on the season and leads Brown with 31 wins.
Bernstein, a native of Allen, Texas, gained entry into the championships as an automatic qualifier after finishing in fourth place in the 184-pound weight class at last weekend's EIWA Championships. Bernstein has reached the NCAAs in all four years and garnered All-America honors in 2014.
The 2015 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships will take place in St. Louis, Mo., at the Scottrade Center from Thursday, March 19 to Saturday, March 21.
