
Men's Golf Opens Season With Ninth Place Finish At Navy Invitational

Annapolis, Md. – Brown opened its 2014 -15 men's golf season by placing ninth with a 36-hole 592 at the Navy Invitational, played at the par-71 6,528 yard Naval Academy Golf Course. Senior Justin Miller paced the Bears and finished 16th individually with a two-day 146.
Seton Hall captured the team title with a 36-hole one-over par 569, nosing out Delaware by a shot (570). Georgetown (578) placed third, followed by Towson (581), Navy (583), Villanova (586), Cornell (589), St. Joseph's (590), Brown (592) and Navy Gold (608).
Miller's solid play came on rounds of 74-72. Junior Jack Wilson was close behind, shooting 74-74—148 to place 25th individually. Freshman Kevin Li competed in his first collegiate tournament and turned in a strong performance on rounds of 76-74—150.
Sophomore Chad Carlson carded an opening round 72 and finished at 152, along with freshman Ben Warner, who shot 74-78—152 in his collegiate debut.
Coach Mike Hughes' squad is back in action at the Hartford Hawk Invitational, September 22-23 at the Bulls Bridge Golf Course in South Kent, Connecticut.
