Men's Tennis Grabs First Ivy Win in 4-2 Triumph Over Yale

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown men's tennis team concluded its 2014 campaign with its first Ivy win of the season, a 4-2 triumph over Yale at the Pizzitola Sports Center on Saturday. Seniors Brandon Burke and Sam Fife participated in their final collegiate matches on Saturday.
Despite dropping the No. 1 doubles match, the Bears responded to claim the lone doubles point after Jacob Laser/Justin To outlasted Patrick Chase/Kyle Dawson, 8-5 and Brandon Burke/Sam Fife triumphed over Daniel Faierman/Photos Photiades, 8-2.
After To fell to No. 106 Tyler Lu, Brown countered with victories in the No. 2, 4, and 5 slots to grab its first league win of the season. William Spector overwhelmed Martin Svenning, 6-3, 6-3 before Burke survived over Kyle Dawson, 6-2, 2-6, 6-4. Daniel Hirschberg clinched the match with his 7-6 (4), 6-2 decision over Photos Photiades.
