LAST TIME OUT
A five-goal first half, including a pair of goals of Ali Savage, powered the Dartmouth Big Green to a 6-1 victory over the Brown field hockey team on Saturday afternoon at Chase Field.
THE SERIES HISTORY – HARVARD
Saturday marks the 39th meeting between Brown and Harvard all-time, with the Crimson holding a 22-9-7 advantage dating back to 1976. Despite Harvard's success, the Bears grabbed a 2-1 overtime win over the Crimson last season on the strength of Hannah Rogers' goal 2:59 into the extra frame.
SCOUTING THE CRIMSON
Harvard enters Saturday's contest on the heels of a decisive 6-0 blanking of UMass-Lowell on Tuesday. Forward Melissa Balleza leads the way with 13 points on six goals and an assist, while freshman Ellie Cookson ranks 13th nationally with seven assists. Kaitlyn Boudah and Elizabeth Jacobson also supplement the Crimson attack with four goals each. In goal, junior Issy Davies has started all eight games, posting a 1.33 goals-against average and a .677 save-percentage.
Sunday's game will be only the fourth meeting between the two schools and the first matchup since 1997. Brown has dominated the previous three contests, outscoring Siena by a 16-0 margin.
SCOUTING THE SAINTS
A trying 2014 campaign has seen the Saints drop their first nine contests by a scoring margin of 41-7. Danielle DeGroot is the player to watch for Siena as she leads the team with goals, while Gabrielle Sullivan checks in second with two markers. Madi Gilbert and Mary Drabich have shared time in between the pipes this season, with Drabich logging 405:24 of 630 minutes played. In their last outing on Wednesday, the Saints dropped a 9-0 decision to No. 10 Albany.
After missing two games due to injury, sophomore Jaclyn Torres (Andover, Mass.) scored the lone goal for the Bears in last Sunday's 6-1 defeat at Dartmouth.
SUDDEN DEATH THRILLER
Lucy Green's (Providence, R.I.) game-winning overtime strike on Sept. 21 was Brown's first overtime win since upsetting No. 14 Louisville on Oct. 13, 2013. Green's conversion of a penalty stroke was Brown's first successful attempt since 2010.
O'DONNELL FOUR SHY OF RECORD
Tri-captain Meghan O'Donnell (Winchester, Mass.) leads the Bears with four goals this season and sits four goals shy of becoming Brown's all-time leader in goals, a record currently held by Tara Mounsey '00.
NON-CONFERENCE PRODUCTION
The Bears have outscored their non-conference opponents by an 11-3 margin this season (4-0).
