
Brown Begins Home Schedule with Games Against No. 6 Harvard and Dartmouth

After a successful opening weekend on the road in New York, the Brown women's ice hockey team (1-1-0) will begin their home schedule this weekend at Meehan Auditorium with two ECAC contests against perennially strong opponents. Friday's game, scheduled to start at 7:00pm, features the Harvard Crimson (2-0-0), currently ranked sixth in the nation, while Saturday's match-up, a 4:00pm start, pits the Bears against the Dartmouth Big Green (1-1-0).

A Look at Harvard: The Crimson also began their season last weekend with two ECAC road games resulting in two victories. They defeated Quinnipiac, 2-0, on Friday night, bolstered by the performance of goaltender Laura Bellamy. She blocked all 30 of the shots that she faced, while Jillian Dempsey and Hillary Crowe each defeated the Bobcats' goalie to earn the win for Harvard. Six different players contributed to Harvard's offensive efforts on Saturday, as they defeated the Princeton Tigers, 9-1. Emerance Maschmeyer stopped 16 shots for the Crimson, while Lindsay Fry contributed a hat trick and an assist to the offense. After the weekend, Dempsey leads the team in scoring with six points (3g,3a), followed closely by Fry (3g,1a) and Mary Parker (1g, 3a), each with four.
