Men's Golf 16th After Day One of OGIO Santa Barbara Invitational

Santa Barbara, California - Playing its first competition of the spring season, the Brown men's golf team is 16th at the OGIO Santa Barbara Invitational, hosted by the University of Santa Barbara at the 7,069 yard, par-72, Sandpiper Golf Club next to the Pacific Ocean. The Bears shot a two-round score of 627 on rounds of 313-314. 30th-ranked Oregon holds a 19-shot lead on second place UC Santa Barbara with a two-round 561.
Senior captain Michael Amato headlined the Bears with a two-round 153, shooting 75-78, for 40th place overall. Sophomore JD Ardell shot 80-76—156 to stand in 54th place.
Freshman Kyohei Itamura was solid, shooting 80-78—158, while freshman Peter Callas came in at 80-82—162. Sophomore Jack Mylott shot 78-88-166, while junior transfer Ryan Hoskins shot 84-81—165.
The 16 teams will play the final round on Tuesday morning, with the first group teeing-off at 8:00 a.m. (PDT)
