Women's Golfers Place 11th in Low Country Intercollegiate

HILTON HEAD, S.C. -- Brown's women's golf team emerged from its winter hibernation to open its spring season at the Low Country Intercollegiate, played at the par-72, 5,853 yard Moss Creek South Course. The Bears placed 11th overall on rounds of 346-329--675.
Pacing the Brown squad was senior captain Susan Restrepo, who shot 87-79--166 to place 33rd individually. Junior Megan Tuohy was close behind at 167 on rounds of 86-81.
Appalachian State captured the team title with a two-round 616 to win the event by nine strokes. Samford finished second with 316-309--625, while the host team, Wofford took third with a 321-319--640. Gardner-Webb 315-329--644 took fourth, and SCAD 325-321--646 rounded out the top five. Richmond and Presbyterian finished tied for sixth with a 651, Western Kentucky (654), Radford (661), Winthrop (670), Brown (675), Tennessee Tech (684), The Citadel (686) and USC Upstate (688) completed the 14 team field.
Senior Sarah Guarascio turned in a solid performance on rounds of 83-86, to finish at 169. Junior Carly Arison came in at 173 (90-83), while junior Heather Arison shot 98-87--185.
The Bears are back in action next week, March 28-29, at the University of California-Monterey Tournament.
