
Brown Men's Soccer Travels to Ithaca to Take on #25 Cornell

Providence, RI- The Brown University men's soccer (7-4-1, 2-1-0 Ivy) team travels to Ithaca, N.Y. to take on first place Cornell (8-1-3, 3-0-0) at Berman field at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. Live stats will be provided for the match at CornellBigRed.com.
The Bears are coming off two straight Ivy League wins against Princeton (3-2 ot) and Harvard (1-0) and are being led by senior forward TJ Popolizio's 18 points on eight goals and two assists. Also helping out on offense has been senior forward Sean Rosa who has scored four goals and two assists, and senior midfielder Evan Coleman is next with two goals and one assist.
Brown's defense has combined for six shutouts as junior Sam Kernan-Schloss has stepped up in net earning a 4-2-1 record earning four of those shutouts. In 662:37 minutes, he has allowed just six goals (0.81 gaa) and has picked up 24 saves (.800 save %).
Cornell sits in first place in Ivy League standings with a perfect 3-0-0 record with wins against Penn (1-0), Harvard (3-1) and most recently Yale (2-0). The Big Red has scored 21 goals this season and has been led by Daniel Haber's 18 points on seven goals and four assists. Conor Goepel has added three goals for the Big Red as four Cornell players have scored two goals.
Leading the defense is Rick Pflasterer, who has started in 12 games playing 11:30:30 minutes in net. He has allowed just seven goals (0.56 gaa) and has recorded 32 saves (.821 save %) to post six shutouts on the year.
The Bears lead the all-time series against Cornell 35-19-4, including a 2-0 victory last season at Stevenson Field.
