
Bears 6th At Harvard Invitational; Prepare For Lehigh Invitational

Hingham, MA - Brown's women's golf team had a 6th place finish at the Harvard Invitational, a tournament that included all seven Ivy League golf-playing schools. Brown's 36-hole 658 was just two shots out of fifth place and three shots out of fourth place in the tournament played at the par-72, 6006 yard Boston Golf Club.
Penn captured the team title with a two-day 637, followed by Columbia (642), Harvard (642), Princeton (655), Yale (656), Brown (658) and Dartmouth (662).
Senior captain Megan Touhy paced the Bears with a 36-hole 158 on rounds of 79-79, finishing seventh individually.
Bears' freshman Stephanie Hsieh shot 81-83—164 to place 18th individually, while senior Heather Arison was 21st with rounds of 84-83—167. Senior Carly Arison finished at 173 on rounds of 86-87. Freshman Cassandra Carothers shot 82-95—177, while freshman Kanika Gandhi came in with 91-95—186 for the Bears.
Coach Danielle Griffiths' team will complete its fall season at the Lehigh Invitational, October 22-23, held at the Saucon Valley Country Club, in Bethlehem, PA, the site of the 2009 US Women's Open and four other USGA events.
