Brown Places 17th At Adams Cup of Newport

Middletown, RI - Brown showed overall improvement on the final day of play at the Adams Cup of Newport with a team score of 309, and finished 17th at the Adams Cup of Newport, held at the par-72 Newport National Golf Club.
Central Florida ran away with the team championship with a three-round 868, followed by West Florida (886), Central Connecticut (893), Connecticut (897), Towson (897), Binghamton (902), Villanova (903), Seton Hall (904), Yale (908), Rhode Island (912), Boston College (920), Michigan State (923), Hartford (924), temple (925), St. Joseph's (933), Bryant (942) and Brown (968).
Freshman Peter Callas and sophomore JD Ardell both stood at the head of the class for the Bears with a three-round 236, with CAllas shooting 78-82-76, and Ardell 77-80-79. Senior captain Michael Amato shot 85-82-78--236.
Sophomore Jack Mylott came back to shoot 76 in the final round for a three-round 258, while freshman Kyohi Itamura shot 83 on Tuesday to finish at 261 overall.
Coach Mike Hughes' team will be back in action again at the Big Five Tournament, October 9-10 in Philadelphia, PA.
