
Bears Place 12th At Navy Invitational

The Brown men's golf team improved to 12th place in the 16-team US Naval Academy Invitational, played on the par-71at the Naval Academy Golf Course in Annapolis. Coach Mike Hughes' team shot a two-day 616 (306-307), with Delaware capturing the team title with a sizzling 569.
Playing in his first collegiate tournament, Bears' freshman Kyohei Itamura shot the low round for the Bears on Sunday, shooting a three-over 74 to finish at 157 for the tournament. Sophomore JD Ardell and freshman Peter Callas were Brown's top finishers overall at 153, with Ardell carding rounds of 76-77, and Callas on rounds of 77-76.
Senior captain Michael Amato and sophomore Jack Mylot each came in at 157, with Amato shooting 76-81, and Mylott coming in with 77-80.
The Bears will be back in action again, September 20-21, at the Adams Cup of Newport, held at the Newport National Golf Club.
