Bears Competing At The Classic At Shelter Harbor

Westerly, RI - With all eight Ivy League schools competing in the 16-team Classic at Shelter Harbor, the Brown men's golf team is getting preview of next spring's Ivy League Championship. After the first day of competition, the Bears are 11th overall with a first round 309, just one shot out of eighth place.
Playing at the par-71, 6697 yard Shelter Harbor Golf Club, Brown senior Michael Amato shot the fifth best score of the day, carding a two-over par 73. Right behind Amato is Bears' freshman Peter Callas, who is 10th individually after shooting 74 on the first day.
Freshman Kyohei Itamura came in at 80 for the Bears, while sophomore JD Ardell shot 82. Sophomore Chris Williams also scored, shooting 86.
