Bears 10th After First Day of Connecticut Cup

With sophomore JD Ardell firing round of 74-76, the Brown men's golf team is 10th overall with a first day 622 at the Connecticut Cup, played at the Ellington Ridge Country Club.

UConn leads the tournament by seven shots with a first day 587.

Ardell's first day 150 is 13th overall in the 68 player field. Freshman Peter Callas was solid, shooting 79-77--156, while sophomore Ryan Hoskins came in at 157 on rounds of 80-77.

Senior captain Michael Amato shot 79-80--159, and sophomore Jack Mylott scored 80-82--162.

Play will conclude with 18 holes on Tuesday at the Ellington Country Club.
