Bears Place 5th In Rain-Shortened Yale Invitational

New Haven, CT - Brown shot a two-round 638 (323, 306 ) to place
fifth at the Yale Invitational played at the par-71 Yale Golf
Course, as the final round was postponed due to rain. The
Bears' second round 306 was the second lowest score of the
day with sophomore Heather Arison and junior Sarah Guarascio
shooting 75 each for coach Danielle Griffith's squad.
Harvard captured the team title with a two-round 601, followed by
Penn (619), Boston College (621), Yale (626), Brown (638),
Fairleigh Dickinson (645), Albany (660), Hartford (667), Dartmouth
(670), Sacred Heart (673), Central Connecticut (675), IUOUI (679)
and LIU (683).
Arison finished 18th individually and led the Bears with a
two-round 157 on rounds of 82-75. Guarascio placed 26th overall
with scores of 84-75—159.
Sophomore Megan Tuohey stepped up in her second round by shooting
77 for a two-round 161. Junior Julie Robinson came in at 164
(82-82), while junior Susan Restrepo finished at 167 (88-79).
Two Brown players competed as individuals. Sophomore Carly Arison
finished 13th overall with a two-round 155, shooting 77-78.
Freshman Claire Straty also competed successfully as an individual
with scores of 80-78--158, as the Bears showed tremendous strength
throughout the lineup.
The Bears have next week off before returning to action at the
Richmond Invitational, October 12-13, in Richmond, Virginia.
