
Brown Soccer to Host Adidas-Brown Soccer Classic This Weekend

Providence, RI- The Brown men's soccer team (0-0-1) is hosting the adidas-Brown Soccer Classic presented by Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island, beginning on Friday, Sept. 5 and ending on Sunday, Sept. 7. Joining Brown on Stevenson Field will be Adelphi University (1-0-1), Southern Methodist University (1-1-0) and Yale (0-0-1). Tickets are $5 for adults and FREE for all Brown students with a valid student ID and children under the age of 12.
Yale and Adelphi will kickoff the tournament at 5:00 p.m., as the Division of Campus Life, Dining Services, and the Department of Athletics will host the All-Campus BBQ and Fan Fest held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Stevenson Field parking lot. Great food and drinks, music, giveways and vendors will be present, as Brown students with a valid student ID and a meal plan will eat and drink FREE! Dining halls are closed for dinner on Friday evening, so anyone not on a meal plan the cost is $12.
Brown will take the field at 7:30 p.m. to battle Southern Methodist University. The Bears and Mustangs have only met once before, on Sept. 9. 2006, when then No. 3 SMU defeated then No. 17 Brown at SMU's Westcott Field.
Also on Friday, there will be a T-shirt giveaway, in-game contests and a halftime contest sponsored by WBRU. Brown soccer and Brown Athletics merchandise will be on sale (20% off for Brown students at Sunday's game).
On Sunday, Yale will square off with SMU at
12:00 p.m., as Brown and Adelphi will play in the final game at
2:30 p.m.
