
Soccer's Nick Elenz-Martin invited to MLS Combine

Providence, RI- Brown men's soccer senior Nick Elenz-Martin (Encinitas, CA) is one of 62 college seniors invited
to the Major League Soccer pre-draft 2010 adidas Player
Combine.
Elenz-Martin will join the 61 seniors from 44 Division I schools
for the combine at Central Broward Regional Park in Ft. Lauderdale,
Fla. From Jan 8-12, 2010. Elenz-Martin is the seventh consecutive
Brown player to earn a spot at the combine.
A First Team All-Ivy and First Team NSCAA All-Northeast Region
selection, Elenz-Martin has tallied 37 career points on 14 goals,
nine of which were game-winners, and nine assists. He helped guide
the Bears to three NCAA Tournament appearances and garnered one Ivy
League title during his career with Brown, as he had his best
season in 2009 scoring five goals and dishing out four assists to
lead the team in scoring.
He earned Second Team All-Ivy honors in 2008 and received the
team's Heinz Kuebel Award, which is given to the
squad's best offensive player. Elenz-Martin garnered First
Team All-Ivy honors in 2007, after scoring two goals and handing
out four assists in his 17 games played helping Brown capture its
19th Ivy League title.
This past season, the Bears finished 11-3-5 overall and earned a
5-2 Ivy League mark to take second place in the Ancient Eight. The
Bears received an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament, and defeated
Stony Brook in the first round but fell to No. 5 seed North
Carolina.
The coaching and management staffs of all 16 MLS teams will be in
attendance to scout talent at the 2010 adidas MLS Player Combine,
which concludes two days before the 2010 MLS SuperDraft. The 2010
MLS SuperDraft will be held on Thursday, Jan. 14, 2010 in
Philadelphia.
