Midlothian, Virginia – The Brown women's golf team
improved on the final day of the Richmond Spider Invitational,
played at the par-72, 6,113 yard Independence Golf Club, finishing
12th with a two-round team score of 655.
Maryland came from two shots back to take the team title with a
two-round 602, followed by Longwood (609), Penn (613), Penn State
(615), Marshall (622), Richmond (622), Old Dominion (633), Wofford
(634), Hampton (636) LIU (646), High Point (649), Brown (655),
Cleveland State (656), Bucknell (657) and Towson (658).
Sophomores Carly Arison and Megan Tuohy were Brown's top
scorers and finished 44th individually with two-round scores of
162, with each shooting 82-80.
Junior Sarah Guarascio was steady throughout, shooting
83-83—166 to place 62nd. Freshman Claire Straty shot
83-87—170, while sophomore Heather Arison came in at 171
(89-82).
The Bears will be back in action again, October 18-19, at the
Sacred Heart Invitational.
