Amato's 4th Place Finish Helps Bears Place 5th At ECAC Division I Championship

Egg Harbor, NJ - Junior Michael Amato shot 76 - 77 – 153
to place fourth individually and help the Brown men's golf
team to a fifth place finish at the ECAC Division I Championship,
held at the par-72 Blue Heron Pines GC.
Fordham captured the team championship with a two-round 623 (311,
312) to beat Fairleigh Dickinson by two shots (625), followed by
Monmouth (630), Colgate (630), Brown (636), St. Peter's
(638), Fairfield (639), Wagner (690) and Hofstra (708). The Bears
shot rounds of 315 and 321 for its 638 total.
Senior captain John Giannuzzi also had a strong tournament for the
Bears, placing seventh individually with a two-day 155, shooting a
sparkling three-over 75 on Saturday. Freshmen JD Ardell and Chris
Williams each placed 26th individually at 165, with Ardell shooting
78-87, and Williams coming in at 81-84. Freshman Jack Mylott shott
81-85—166 to place 30th individually.
The Bears will be back in action at the UConn Invitational,
October 11-12 at Ellington Ridge Country Club.
