Regarded as one of the best women’s squash players to wear a Brown uniform, Sue Cutler Christie ’88 was a four-time All-American and a four-time First Team All-Ivy selection. Christie didn’t just compete on the court, she was also a member of the Bears’ women’s lacrosse team, earning First Team All-Ivy honors in 1987 and co-captaining the squad in 1988.

Christie was the first-ever recipient of the Kate Silver Memorial Award, given to the most outstanding first-year varsity female athlete. She continued her stellar play throughout her career and reached an impressive ranking of sixth in the country as a senior. As a senior captain, Christie led the Bears to wins in three of their last four matches in 1988. Following the regular season, Christie competed at the Intercollegiate Squash Tournament, advancing to the fourth round of the competition.

In lacrosse, Christie earned Honorable Mention All-Ivy laurels as a sophomore and as a junior, led the Ivy League in goals while also ranking third in points, garnering First Team All-Ivy honors. Currently, Christie is tied for 12th all-time at Brown in points (116) and ranks seventh in goals (99). In a season, she has Brown’s third-best goal output (48 in 1986), is seventh in points (55 in 1986) and is also ranked 13th in goals (1987).

Cutler Christie has owned a marketing and promotions company, Graves Group Productions, since 1997 after working at Reebok, IMG and The Marketing Arm.
