Oliver Marti proved that one can succeed at the highest level, both academically and athletically, at Brown as a dual major in economics and business management. He graduated from Brown in three years and was recognized as Academic All-American and All-Ivy.

On the field, he finished as the fourth all-time leading goal scorer and eighth all-time scorer.

An Honorable Mention All-American in 1992 and 1993, Marti scored nine goals against Loyola in a 1992 NCAA Tournament game, tying the single-game record. Oliver was named Brown’s Most Valuable Offensive Player in 1992.

Marti was a prolific scorer in his three seasons, and the Bears posted a remarkable 35-8 record. His average of 3.51 goals per game ranks fifth in NCAA history.

He was a member of the Canadian National Team and founded the Connecticut Collegiate Box League. His success continued on the field post-Brown with two Minto and one Mann Cup Canadian Box Lacrosse National Championship Finals. He was drafted and played two seasons for the New York Saints (1994, 1995), a professional indoor lacrosse team of the National Lacrosse League.

Currently, Marti is the CEO and founder of Akera Capital, a family office focused on healthcare investing, and the CEO and owner of the Albany FireWolves, a professional indoor lacrosse team in the National Lacrosse League.

He coached the 2023 USA Indoor Lacrosse U21 team, which defeated the perennial powerhouse Canadian Team to win Gold (the US’s first victory over Canada since 2002). He also coached for Superstar Box Lacrosse, one of the country’s first fully dedicated youth box lacrosse programs for boys and girls, winning several National Championships. He founded 11|88 LLC and was an early investor in the Premier Lacrosse League.

He and Michelle Marti have four children, Anna ’24, Kailey ’28, Max and Nick.
