The Brown Softball Field has been the home of Brown softball since its opening in 2017. The facility is located within the Erickson Athletic Complex off Hope Street and Lloyd Avenue.
FEATURES
The facility includes an artificial FieldTurf surface, sunken dugouts, expanded batting tunnels and bullpens, and a press box. In addition, the grandstand at Brown Softball Field includes chair backs and bench seating, while a tension backstop netting system allows for unobstructed views of the entire playing field.
HISTORY
Construction on the Brown Softball Field was completed in November 2016 and hosted its first game on March 29, 2017, with a doubleheader sweep of the University of Hartford. The field is located on the same site as the Bears' previous home, which was demolished following the 2016 season. The $5 million project completely rebuilt the University's baseball and softball complexes, and was entirely funded by donations.
PARKING
Parking is available on a first-come, first-serve basis in Lot 90 off of Lloyd Avenue outside of normal business hours (Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m.). Additional street parking is also available. Click here for University parking maps.
