Oksana Goretaya '17 joined the Brown women’s rugby staff as an assistant coach in the fall of 2017 and will enter her second season in the 2018-19 campaign.
A member of Brown’s inaugural team in 2014-15, Goretaya was a instrumental player on the Bears’ squad that won the Ivy Championship in their first varsity season. A three-year captain, Goretaya was named a NIRA All-American in her senior campaign.

Outside of rugby, Goretaya was named The Rhode Island Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (RIAIAW) Distinguished Student-Athlete of the Year in 2017. Graduating with a concentration in Chemical Biology, the West Warwick, R.I. native was awarded a Royce Fellowship in the summer of 2016.
