
Men’s Lacrosse Announces Class of 2030

Rothman Head Coaching Chair for Men’s Lacrosse Jon Torpey has announced the program’s class of 2030, the 14-member class will join the program in the fall.
The 14-member class includes Anthony Costa, Bennett Hendricks, Cole Carberry, Colin Maher, Griffin O’Sullivan, Henry Ferguson, Ian Smith, James Towers, Leo Barbagallo, Rees Piontek, Thomas White, Toby Najenson, Trip Schuhwerk, and Tyler Ramirez.
“We are very excited to welcome this class to Brown,” Torpey said. “This class is full of hardworking, competitive, high character, and talented young men from some of the finest high school and club programs in the nation. We look forward to seeing them finish their high school careers on a high note and come in next fall ready to grow.”
Anthony Costa
Defense/LSM | Villanova, Pennsylvania | The Haverford School | Team Ten

Before Brown: A two-sport athlete at The Haverford School, Anthony played soccer as well as lacrosse. He was a two-time Inter-AC Lacrosse Champion First Team All-Main Line (2024), PSCA All-State First Team (2024), and a PAISAA State Champion (2025). On the soccer field, Anthony was a three-time Inter-AC Champion, Inter-AC MVP (2024), and a two-time First Team All-Inter-AC.
Why Brown: "Ability to choose your own path, with a high academic and athletic balance. A real emphasis on the community surrounding the teams and programs.
Bennett Hendricks
Midfield | Houston, Texas | Culver Military Academy | Mad Dog National Black

Before Brown: Part of the No. 1 ranked team in the nation, prep lacrosse national champion, three-time MSLA Champion. Also a four-star recruit by Inside Lacrosse.
Why Brown: “I wanted to play on a competitive lacrosse team and get a great education.”
Cole Carberry
Attack | Philadelphia, Pennsylvania | Springside Chestnut Hill Academy | Team Ten

Before Brown: Four-star recruit and ranked the No. 92 recruit by Inside Lacrosse. Played high school lacrosse at Springside Chestnut Hill Academy and recorded over 400 career points.
Why Brown: “I chose Brown because I saw an opportunity to succeed both athletically and academically. The coaching staff won me over pretty quickly and I am excited to excel under their guidance. They have done an amazing job establishing a winning culture already, and I have no doubt that we will compete for Ivy League and National Championships. I see it as an opportunity to come into a program, build something really special, and leave it better than I found it. Besides the lacrosse piece, Brown offers an amazing education along with an abundance of extremely successful alumni that will set me up with the opportunity to be successful for the next forty years of my life.”
Colin Maher
Attack | Virginia Beach, Virginia | St. Anne's Belfield School | Team 91 Virginia

Before Brown: As a senior in 2025, Colin scored 65 goals to go along with 57 assists, St. Anne’s Belfield also won the Virginia State Championship. Colin was the State Player of the Year, the Virginia Prep League Player of the Year, and the Central Virginia Player of the Year. Colin was also All-State, All-VPL, a USA Lacrosse All-American, a New Balance All-American, Nike National All-Star and rated by Inside Lacrosse. He was named Best in Class, Maverick Showtime, and a top 30 attackmen in the nation.

Also, athletically compete for a National Championship team with a great history of success and culture.”
Griffin O’Sullivan
Attack/Midfield | Madison, New Jersey | Gill St. Bernard’s | Building Block Lacrosse

Before Brown: Top 100 recruit and four-star recruit by Inside Lacrosse. Has accumulated over 125 goals and 150 points at Gill St. Bernard’s. O’Sullivan is a two-time Non-Public B State Champion, a Prep B State Champion, and a Somerset County Champion. He is a two-time All-State performer, once at midfield and once as attack. Griffin is the brother of current Bear Brady O’Sullivan.
Why Brown: “I chose Brown because of the excellent history in lacrosse and because Brown sets you up with amazing opportunities for the future.”
Henry Ferguson
Midfield | Akron, Ohio | Saint Ignatius High School | Resolute Lacrosse

Before Brown: Scored 122 goals as a four-year varsity starter at Saint Ignatius, Henry was named Regional Player of the Year (2025), First Team All-Region (2024, 2025), Second Team All-Ohio (2024, 2025) and Second Team All-Region (2023). Ferguson was also a two-time member of the u16 US National Team (2023, 2024).
Ferguson also was a participant in the Nike National All-Star Game (2023), Platinum Cup All-Tournament Team (2023), Maverick Showtime All-Star (2023), Adrenaline the Challenge Standout (2024), and Champions Cup MVP (2024). He participated in the New Balance All-American Games as a member of Team Midwest and was a three-star recruit by Inside Lacrosse.
Why Brown: “I believe that a Brown education, the Brown lacrosse program, and the Brown community are going to make me a better person, and that I have something unique and meaningful to give back.”
Ian Smith
Midfield | Hingham, Massachusetts | Milton Academy | Laxachusetts

Before Brown: Two-sport athlete at Milton Academy, played football along with lacrosse. On the football field, Ian played defensive back. He was a team captain of the lacrosse team at Milton and was a 2024 top 100 recruit and a four-star recruit by Inside Lacrosse.
Why Brown: “I chose Brown for its amazing opportunity to play lacrosse and be educated at the highest level.”
James Towers
Attack | New Canaan, Connecticut | Avon Old Farms | Eclipse Lacrosse Club

Before Brown: A two-sport athlete at Avon Old Farms, James played football along with lacrosse. In lacrosse, James was an All-Founders League Lacrosse Honorable Mention, a Maverick Showtime All-Star and a captain as a senior. On the football field, James was a New England Football Champion as a senior.
Why Brown: “I chose Brown because of the academics and the chance to play for Coach Torpey”
Leo Barbagallo

Before Brown: Four-star recruit by Inside Lacrosse, Showtime All-Star. Rated a top 10 FOGO by Inside Lacrosse.

Rees Piontek
LSM | Chester Springs, Pennsylvania | Episcopal Academy | Team Ten

Before Brown: Four-star recruit and No. 33 recruit by Inside Lacrosse, also a Maverick Showtime All-Star. Seven-time Varsity Letterwinner at Episcopal Academy, 2025 Inter-AC Champion, and a recipient of the Nicholas Colleluon Award at Episcopal Academy.
Why Brown: “I chose Brown because it gave me the best opportunity to achieve the athletic goals I set for myself while also receiving the best education in the world.”
Thomas White
Goalie | Wayne, Pennsylvania | St. Andrew’s School | Next Level Lacrosse

Before Brown: A three-sport athlete at St. Andrew’s School, Thomas was a quarterback, running back, and linebacker on the football field. He also was a wrestler in the 190 weight class. On the football field, he holds the record for most completions in a game. On the lacrosse field, Thomas was All-Conference, All-State, and a three-star recruit by Inside Lacrosse.
Why Brown: “I chose Brown for the open curriculum, tight-knit lacrosse culture, and career opportunities.”
Toby Najenson
Defense/LSM | Rumson, New Jersey | Rumson-Fair Haven Regional School | Mad Dog National Black

Before Brown: Team captain at Rumson-Fair Haven Super Soph (2024), First Team All-Shore (2025), First Team All-Division (2024). Mad Dog East Elite & National Black, Mad Dog National Black ranking in the top 10 nationally. Three star recruit by Inside Lacrosse, two-time Maverick Showtime Invitee, Main State Invitee, and Best in Class Invitee.
Why Brown: “I chose Brown for the combination of athletics, academics, and community.”
Tripp Schuhwerk
Midfield | Hingham, Massachusetts | The Governor’s Academy | Boston Laxachusetts

Before Brown: At BC High, Tripp recorded 88 points over two seasons before recording 79 points across two seasons at The Governor’s Academy. He was named the Lacrosse Rookie of the Year at BC High and was named All-ISL (2025) and a Boston Lax Net All-American.
Why Brown: “I chose Brown because I will be surrounded by people that challenge and push me to my best ability everyday whether that is in the classroom or on the field.”
Tyler Ramirez
Attack | Redding, Connecticut | Salisbury School | Prime Time Lacrosse Club

Before Brown: Two-sport athlete at Salisbury School as he played squash as well as lacrosse. Tyler led Salisbury School in points as a junior and senior. As a squash player, Tyler was All-New England.
Why Brown: “I chose Brown because it offers the perfect balance of elite academics, competitive athletics, and a supportive environment that will allow me to grow both on and off the field”
