
Women's Tennis Fall Season Preview

Brown women’s tennis officially begins their fall season next Friday when they compete in the Bulldog Invitational in New Haven, Conn. hosted by Yale. The tournament will take place from Friday, Sept. 19 to Sunday, Sept. 21.
Broadbent Family Head Coach Lucie Schmidhauser enters her seventh season leading the program. Cristelle Fox returns as an assistant coach for a second season, joined by Jurence Mendoza in his first.
This year’s roster consists of one senior, three juniors, three sophomores, and three freshmen.

The Schedule
After opening the fall season at Yale, the Bears will compete in the Dartmouth Fall Foliage Festival in Hanover, N.H. from Friday, Sept. 26, through Sunday, Sept. 28.
The following weekend, Brown travels to Cambridge, Massachusetts for ITA Regionals, Thursday, Oct. 9 to Tuesday, Oct. 14.
The season rolls on as the Bears compete in the Ivy League Invitational back in Cambridge (Oct. 25-27) before heading to the Harvard Quad Team Event (Oct. 31-Nov. 2).
The Conference Masters and Sectional Championships East will both take place from Nov. 6-9. The Conference Masters will take place in San Diego, Calif., while the Sectional Championships will happen in Chapel Hill, N.C.
Fall tennis will conclude with the NCAA Individual Championships in Orlando, Fla. from Nov. 18 through Nov. 23.

Returning Players
Seven players from the 2024-25 season will make their return to College Hill, including senior Anne Moody. She returns after coming back from an injury that kept her off the court for two seasons. At the end of last season, she was awarded the Bessie H. Rudd Award for her enthusiasm, spirit, and leadership on the team by Brown Athletics.
Bella Hu returns for the 2025-26 season with a total of 15 singles wins last season. She also recorded five doubles wins when paired with returner Dani Ben-Abraham.
Hannah Shen completed last season with a total of 10 singles wins. She earned a total of four doubles wins when paired with Bella Hu.
Ali Maguy, Sari Woo, Dani Ben-Abraham, and Anne Yang will also return for the 2025-26 season.
The team returns with 10 wins last season, including a six-match winning streak over Stony Brook (Feb. 22), Boston University (Mar. 1), Rhode Island (Mar. 2), Fordham (Mar. 8), UMass (Mar. 15), and Davidson (Mar. 23).
The Bears also tallied wins against Boston College (Jan. 20), Bryant (Feb. 1), #59 Yale (Mar. 29), and Cornell (Apr. 6).

Newcomers
Three freshmen are set to make their debut as Brown Bears this season.

Abigail Lee is from Deerfield, Illinois, and attended Deerfield High School. She is ranked as a five-star recruit by Tennis Recruiting Network.
Chloe Qin is from Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, and attended Cranbrook Kingswood. She is ranked seventh nationally by USTA and a five-star recruit by Tennis Recruiting Network.
Francesca Saroli is from Key Biscayne, Florida, and attended Laurel Springs School. She was named Swiss Olympic National Talent as a junior and was awarded athlete of the year twice by Mouratoglou Tennis Academy.
