Men's Water Polo Announces Class of 2029

Brown Director of Water Polo Felix Mercado has announced the addition of four student-athletes to the team that will join the program in the fall.
The class includes newcomers Filip Josipovic, Hugo Molnar, Brody Paine and Griffin Tunney.

Hugo Molnar
Left Wing | Szeged, Budapst | Radnoti Miklos Experimental High School
- 2022 junior championship goal medalist
- Played for SZVPS club team
Planned Concentration: Undecided
Why Brown?: “Because it matched my athletic and academic interests.”
Filip Josipovic
Utility | Nijmegen, Netherlands | Liceo Scientifico Ianfranconi
- Two gold medals (u16 and u18) and one silver (u18) in the Italian National Championship
- Played for Pro Recco, one of the most prestigious water polo clubs in the world
- Won a sharpshooter award with the u16 club
- Two gold medals with the u14 Croatian National Team
- Won two bronze medals with Mladost (u13 and u14) in the Croatian National Championship
- Knows five languages (Croatian, English, Dutch, Italian and Portugese) and learning Hungarian
Planned concentration: Biomedical engineering – possibly nano-technology
Why Brown?: “The freedom you get from the university that lets me accomplish any goal that I put up for myself. I wouldn't be able to do that anywhere else.”
Brody Paine

- 2022 D2 CCS Champion and D3 CIF-NorCal Champion
- Played for San Francisco Water Polo Club
- Four-time Outstanding USAWP Academic All-American

Griffin Tunney
