
Women's basketball announces eight newcomers

Elizabeth F. Turner ‘98 Coaching Chair for Women’s Basketball Monique LeBlanc has announced the incoming group of freshmen that make up the Class of 2026.
The eight-member class is comprised of Ada Anamekwe, Grace Arnolie, Lexy Calhoun, Mady Calhoun, Page Greenburg, Mackenzie Leahy, Alyssa Moreland and Elizabeth Nelson.
“Our freshmen class adds a dynamic and diverse skill set to our program,” said LeBlanc. "We feel that each player helps to address a specific need within our program whether it be rebounding, speed, shooting, or play-making ability. In addition to their on-court skills, we are excited about their collective impact on our team culture by how they train and compete. This will be a fun group to watch!"

Ada Anamekwe
6'0" | Forward | Plano East | Parker, Texas

- Was named First Team All-District and Second Team All-District
 - Earned All-Area Defensive MVP honors and two-time Defensive MVP at Plano East
 - Named Academic All-State
 
Why Brown: “The atmosphere in which made me feel at home. The open curriculum, and personalized education system. The basketball coaches and overall staff were not only helpful but uplifting throughout my recruiting process. It all solidified my reasons for coming to Brown.”
Grace Arnolie
5'8" | Guard | James Madison | Vienna, Va.

- As a senior, First Team All-District, District Co-Player of the Year, First Team All-Region, Region Co-Player of the Year, First Team All-State, First Team All-Met, All-Madison Team, 1,000-point scorer, Youth Incorporated Girls’ Basketball Co-MVP
 - Three-time VHSL Class 6A State Champion at James Madison High School
 - Four-time First Team All-District, Two Time First Team All-Region, Two-time Second Team All-Region
 - Academic Excellence Award in 2020. T.R. Cook Award of Excellence 2021.
 
Why Brown: “I chose Brown because I wanted to find a school that would challenge me academically while also allowing me to play basketball at a competitive level, and Brown was the perfect fit.”
Lexy Calhoun
5'8" | Guard | Harriton | Barrington, R.I.

- Four-year starter at Harriton High School
 - Named All-Central League and three-time All-Main Line honoree
 - Two-time Harriton Female Athlete of the Year
 - Selected to Philadelphia City vs. Suburbs All-Star girls basketball game
 - Member of the National Honors Society and earned the AP Scholar Award.
 
Why Brown: “Brown offers a supportive campus environment that will allow me the freedom to explore a variety of interests to determine what I am passionate about academically. Additionally, the energy and positivity of the coaching staff and team made Brown a great fit.”
Mady Calhoun
5'10" | Guard | Barrington | Barrington, R.I.

- First Team All-State 2022, All-Division 2022 and All-Class 2022
 - 2022 Team Captain and Providence Journal Girls' Basketball Preseason Player of the Year
 - 2021 Offensive Player of the Year at Harriton High School
 - Two-time All-Conference and All-Main Line Honors at Harriton (Pa.).
 
Why Brown: “Academically, I really liked the Open Curriculum and ability to take courses that most interest me. I also love the beautiful campus and friendly atmosphere. Athletically, I immediately connected with the coaches, and love their style of coaching and positivity.”
Page Greenburg
5'9" | Guard | Maret School | Washington, D.C.

- As a senior, First Team All-State, Washington Post All-Met Second Team, All-ISL AA League and McDonald’s All-American Game nominee
 - Two-time team captain and three-time leading scorer
 - Finished her career with 1,106 points and 173 made threes
 - Two-time All-Met Honorable Mention, Two-time All-ISL League and Second Team All-State as a freshman and sophomore.
 
Why Brown: "I chose Brown because I want to help build a championship program in a great league while getting a great education."
Mackenzie Leahy
5'8" | Guard | Jacobs | West Dundee, Ill.

- All-Area in 2021 and 2022 and All-Conference in 2020, 2021 and 2022
 - Averaged 15.2 points per game and 4.2 steals per game as a senior, while averaging over six rebounds per game in all three years
 - Scored a school record 37 points in a game
 - Named Female Student Athlete of the Year at Jacobs High School in 2022
 - Was a Team Captain in 2020-22.

Alyssa Moreland
5'11" | Forward | Tilton | Beverly, Mass.

- Tilton Female Athlete of the Year in 2020 and 2022
 - Basketball MVP in 2022 and Defensive MVP in 2020
 - 1,000-point scorer in her career at Tilton
 - NEPSAC Class A Player of the Year in 2020
 - All-NEPSAC Class AA First Team 2022
 - MacMoran Scholar in 2020-22, National Honors Society 2021-22, High Honor Roll 2020-22.
 
Why Brown: “I choose Brown because the community showed that it gave students the opportunity to take chances and grow. At Brown there are so many opportunities and I knew that Brown would support and help me in the future.”
Elizabeth Nelson
6'0" | Forward | Oakland | Murfreesboro, Tenn.

- 2021-22 All-District Team and Second Team All-Area
 - Valedictorian, Tennessean Middle TN Scholar Athlete of the Year, National Merit Finalist
 - Led team to 2021-22 State Tournament as Team Captain
 - Averaged 10 points and eight rebounds as a senior.
