Mathieu Saber, an 11-year-old from Somerset, Massachusetts, joined the Brown men's soccer roster in February of 2018 through a partnership with Team IMPACT.
"We're thrilled that we are able to match with Mattie," said head coach Patrick Laughlin. "It's great to have a new member and a guy who loves soccer just like we do, and we're really looking forward to getting to know Mattie better."
Team IMPACT's mission is to improve the quality of life for children facing life-threatening and chronic illnesses by establishing and expanding vibrant team-based support networks.
A massive soccer fan and all-star soccer player, he was selected to train with the Barcelona Training Academy in Spain and is currently a member of the Bayside U12 Development Academy Team in East Providence. Mattie is a fighter who truly embodies the Bears' never-quit attitude, and he and his family are excited to become part of the Brown men's soccer family.
Mattie is the son of Rebecca and Philip. He has two sisters, Abigail and Kate Elizabeth.
