PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Chase Wileman, the Friends of Brown Men's Soccer Head Coaching Chair, has announced the 2023 schedule. The 16-game slate features nine games at Stevenson-Pincince Field and nine nonconference matches.
2023 marks the first year that the Ivy League will have a four-team conference tournament to decide the automatic qualifier for the NCAA Tournament. The tournament will be hosted by the regular season champion from Nov. 10-12.
The Bears are on their home turf for six of their first seven games beginning with UMass (Sept. 1) and Fairfield (Sept. 4). The team will then catch a plane to Orlando for its first road test of the year at Central Florida (Sept. 9).
After the weekend in Florida, Brown returns home for the first of four straight at Stevenson-Pincince. In that stretch the team will match up against Sacred Heart (Sept. 13), Bryant (Sept. 16), cross-city rival Providence (Sept. 19), and concludes the home stand with its first Ivy League game against Columbia (Sept. 23).
Brown then hits the road for the first time in three weeks for a match at Cornell (Sept. 30), who were one of two Ivy teams to represent the conference in the NCAA Tournament last season. The month of October starts with a home game against Stonehill (Oct. 3) before back-to-back road games with Harvard (Oct. 7) and UMass Lowell (Oct. 10).
The reigning Ivy League champion Penn Quakers then come to Brown (Oct. 14), and the final nonconference contest is at Rhode Island (Oct. 17). The Bears then make their final push toward the Ivy League Tournament with games at Princeton (Oct. 21), home against Dartmouth (Oct. 28), and at Yale (Nov. 4).
Stay tuned over the summer for updates on tickets.
