- Maloney scored her team-leading seventh goal of the season late in the second period, which proved to be the game-winner.
- Grad student Megan Forrest also picked up her third assist of the season on Brown's second goal.
- Brown went 1-for-2 on the power play, scoring the winning goal with the man advantage late in the second period. RPI entered the game with the number one ranked penalty kill in the nation, killing off 61-of-64 (.953) penalties entering the contest.

- On special teams, the Bears went 1-for-2 on the power play, while RPI went 1-for-5 with the man advantage. The Engineers outshot Brown 34-15 in the game.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Bears (2-12-2, 2-6-1 ECAC) wasted no time jumping on the scoreboard, as Stockfish made the Engineers pay for a costly turnover in the Brown offensive zone exactly one minute in. Stockfish intercepted a pass in the slot and immediately put a shot past the goaltender's glove to stake Brown to the 1-0 lead.
- The Engineers (6-14, 3-8 ECAC) outshot the Bears 9-7 in the opening frame while Brown killed off all three of its penalties.
- RPI tied the game up on their fourth power play opportunity of the game on a pass from below the goal line into the right wing circle, which was one-timed into the net by Marah Wagner at 3:46 of the second period.
- Brown regained the lead late in the period on the power play when Maloney took a pass behind the net, got her own rebound off a low angle shot and roofed it top shelf over the glove to put the Bears back in front 2-1 with 4:03 to play in the period. Stockfish and Forrest picked up the assists.
- Doyle stood tall in goal for the Bears in the third period, making two key saves on shots in front in the closing minutes to keep it a one-goal game as RPI outshot Brown 25-8 over the final two periods.
QUOTES FROM THE COACH: MELANIE RUZZI
- "Going into the second half, we knew there were a couple things we had to be better at, and the power play is one of them. We've seen our penalty kill improve tremendously, but our power play was lagging behind. So, we shifted a lot of things around and really worked at it when we returned to campus, and it is nice to pop one in. I think we had some other really good chances with the second unit."
- "We talked about what we can do off our forecheck and that's exactly what we did. We created the turnover, got it to the high player and buried it. I think it's just attention to detail. It's the second semester for team that had a lot of new players. We you step away from it and then come back, things start to come together a little bit better. We're finishing our chances and connecting a little bit better, and that first goal is pretty indicative of what we've been working on."
