PROVIDENCE, RI – Many members of the Brown University Men's Crew team enjoyed success this past week at the World Rowing Junior Championships and the Henley Royal Regatta.
Â
Both rowing events were cancelled in 2020 due to the COVID pandemic which made for even more rigorous competitions this year.
Â
"It's fantastic to see both our incoming and our current student-athletes take the initiative to compete at the highest level which will prepare them to come back to Brown and compete for a national championship," said Brown Men's Crew Assistant Coach Rufus Biggs '19.
Â
Schuyler Bacon (Fr. – London, England) highlighted the success of Brown rowers by helping Eton College continue its dominance at the Henley (August 11-15) in England. Bacon won the Princess Elizabeth Challenge Cup (schoolboy eights). It was the 40th Henley win for Eton College.
Â
Equally impressive was Enno Moench (Fr. – Hamburg, Germany) in his performance at the World Junior Rowing Championships (August 11-15) in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. Moench, representing Germany, captured the silver medal in the Junior Men's Eight.
Â
"It was extremely exciting to see all of our incoming rowers do well," said Biggs. "For them to compete and have success at such a high level before coming to Brown makes us all excited about the experience they will bring to the boathouse when they arrive."
Â
Below is a list of results involving members of the Brown Men's Crew team at both events:
