11/11/2021 5:23:00 PM | Men's Cross Country, Women's Cross Country
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown men's and women's cross country teams will head up to Boston on Friday morning to compete at the NCAA Northeast Regionals at Franklin Park. The women's 6K race is set to get underway at 11 a.m., followed by the men's 10K at noon.
Live results and race entries can be found by clicking here.
Brown has gotten quite familiar with Franklin Park this season as this will be the fourth time in 2021 the Bears will compete at the park. Both teams took home first place at the Suffolk Short Course Classic to open the season, then competed once again on the course at the Battle in Beantown. At the New England Championships, then men placed third, their highest finish at the meet since 2016, while the women placed fifth, their best finish at New Englands since 2009. However, the regional races on Friday will be the longest races run by either team at Franklin Park this season.
Most recently at the Ivy League Heptagonal Championships at Princeton on Oct. 30, senior Jared Yabu led the men's pack in 24:59.6 (8K), followed by junior Gabriel Cannavo and senior Aaron Siff-Scherr. For the third time this year, senior Katherine Dokholyan led the way for the Brown women with a 6K time of 21:26.2, followed by senior Emily Kompelien and sophomore Isa Stronski.
