
Innerst, Russell Earn Brown Student-Athlete of the Week Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Softball freshman pitcher Lauren Innerst and men's track & field senior thrower Owen Russell have earned Brown University Athletics Student-Athlete of the Week honors for the week of Mar. 4-10, Brown announced on Monday.

Freshman pitcher Lauren Innerst posted a 0.78 ERA over 9.0 innings pitched last week, earning her first career save and first career win. She posted seven strikeouts against four walks on the week, while permitting just one earned run and nine hits. She pitched a complete-game 7.0 innings, while allowing just one earned run with four strikeouts in a 5-2 win over North Carolina A&T. She picked up the save in a 2-0 win over Rider, tossing 2.0 innings without allowing a run and striking out three.

Owen Russell, Men's Track & Field, Senior, Attleboro, Mass.
Senior thrower Owen Russell earned Second Team All-America honors at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday at the Birmingham CrossPlex in Birmingham, Alabama. A native of Attleboro, Mass., Russell placed 11th overall in the weight throw and bested his entry seed by one spot, as he finished 11th with a toss of 68-1.75 (20.77m). He was one of only five men's and women's competitors from the Ivy League to qualify for the national indoor championship.
