PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown University announced today that Atilio Tass has retired as men's and women's fencing head coach. A national search for a new head coach will begin immediately.
"I want to thank Coach Tass for his contributions to the Brown fencing program and its student-athletes," Brown Director of Athletics Jack Hayes said. "I wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors."
Tass completed his 18th season coaching the Bears this past winter. During his tenure at Brown, Tass coached five All-Americans and 24 NCAA qualifiers while leading the Bears to a program-best 13th-place team finish at the NCAA Championships three times.
