Women's Cross Country Team Earns Title at Bryant Invitational

Smithfield, RI - The Brown women's cross country team earned first place at the Bryant Invitational with a combined score of 16 points on Saturday morning. Leading the way for Bruno was sophomore Samantha Adelberg (Washington, DC), who earned a 19:43.97 to win the meet title in just her second cross country meet ever. Finishing behind Brown was the University of Rhode Island (50), Central Connecticut State (65), Southern New Hampshire (121), Bryant (123) and American International (167).
The Bears also secure second through fourth place, as freshman Amanda Herrmann (Skillman, NJ) placed second with a 19:48.57, followed by Brianna Rogers (Moorestown, NJ) in third with a 19:48.79, and Galia Dietz (Richland, WA) crossed the line in fourth with a 20:03.17.
Placing in sixth was sophomore Megan Fitzpatrick (Hopewell Valley, NJ) with a 20:09.32, Rachel Baker (20:33.87) in 11th, and Bridgett Black (Hanover, NH) with a 20:40.79 for 12th, and Emily Mepham with a 20:49.43 for 13th place.
The Bears will be back in action on Oct. 11, as they travel to Boston, MA for the New England Championships at Franklin Park.
