Providence, RI - Eight members of Brown's women's water polo team have been named to the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches' All-Academic Team. In addition, the Bears posted the sixth-highest GPA of any team in the country, a 3.250.
Junior Roxanne Palmer (Los Alamitos, CA) posted the highest GPA for Brown, a 3.70, and was one of five team members to earn the ACWPC's "Superior" distinction (3.4-3.79 GPA). Joining her were seniors Elizabeth Balassone (Los Altos, CA), who has a 3.66, Claire Angyal (Mosman, Australia) with a 3.63, and Paige Lansing (Newport Beach, CA) with a 3.50, and sophomore Emily Schwartz (Miami Beach, FL) with a 3.41. Three Bears were given "Excellent" distinction (3.0-3.39 GPA) - freshman Lauren Presant (Poway, CA) with a 3.33, junior Alexis Blaxberg (Pinecrest, FL) with a 3.30, and senior Caitlin Fahey (Bellevue, WA) with a 3.26.
