Stephanie Laing Earns CWPA Northern Division Player of the Week; Three Bears Earn First Team All-East

Providence, RI - Junior goalkeeper Stephanie Laing (Ann Arbor, MI) was named the CWPA Northern Division Player of the Week and earned First Team All-East honors following her performance at the 2009 Eastern Championship at Harvard University. Also earning First Team All-East accolades was junior Lauren Presant (Poway, CA) and junior Sarah Glick (Bonita, CA).
Laing picked up her third Player of the Week award, following previous honors on February 16 and March 23, as she made 34 saves for the Bears leading No. 19 ranked Brown to a fourth place finish. Laing made 11 saves in an 8-7 victory against No. 16 Indiana University in the opening right of Easterns, netted 14 in a 10-6 loss to No. 14 Hartwick in the semifinals and wrapped up the tournament with nine saves in a 12-8 loss to No. 20 Maryland. On the year, Laing has a .522 save percentage and a 19-15 record in net and has played 936 minutes.
Presant led the Bears in goals with 98, and has added 18 assists for 116 points this season. Presant sparked Brown with two goals against Indiana en route to the team's 8-7 victory in the opening round of the Eastern Championship, and then scored two during its match against No. 20 Maryland. Presant led the team in steals with 54, and combined for 48 drawn ejections.
Glick led the Bears with 149 points, scoring 82 goals and handed out a team-high 67 assists this season. She's drawn 41 ejections and was second on the team in steals with 49.
