Providence, RI - Sophomore Joanna Wohlmutch (Manhattan Beach, CA) helped lead the Brown women's water polo team to a 4-0 record, including an 8-7 overtime victory against No. 12-nationally ranked Hartwick College, by scoring seven goals with three steals and 14 ejections drawn to earn the Northern Division Player of the Week.
Against the Hawks, Wohlmuth led all Bears' scorers with three goals, including the game-winner, as Brown handed Hartwick its first loss in Northern Division competition. In the history of the league, Hartwick was 92-0 in Northern Division play dating back to the 2000 season prior to falling against the Bears, including a 62-0 mark in regular season play.
In other games last week, Wohlmuth chipped in with four goals in a 13-3 win over Utica College, while helping Brown defeat Connecticut College, 13-7, and Harvard, 11-10, to clinch the No. 2 seed for the upcoming Northern Division Championship on April 18-19 at Connecticut College.
