Junior Lauren Presant (Poway, CA) was named the Collegiate Water Polo Association’s (CWPA) Northern Division Player of the Week after scoring 18 goals en route to a 2-1 weekend for the Bears.
Presant notched three goals in Bruno’s 13-4 win over Colorado College, while also picking up three steals, an assist and an ejection drawn. The Bears then challenged New York Athletic Club where Presant lit up for a team-high seven goals during Brown’s 15-10 win. She also handed out three assists, had one steal and an ejection drawn.
Presant played her best game yet against No. 13 Hartwick, as the Bears dropped a 13-10 decision to open up league play. She registered four of Brown’s five first quarter goals, and then posted all three of Brown’s goals in the third to tie the game at 10-10 heading into the final eight minutes of play. However, the Bears were held scoreless in the fourth, as Hartwick tallied three goals to earn a 13-10 win.
Presant leads Brown in scoring with 55 goals, as the Bears now have a 9-5 record. Brown heads out west to compete against Indiana at 3:00 p.m. PT on Friday, March 20, and then Hawaii and the University of California, Berkeley the following day during the Aztec Invitational hosted by San Diego.
