Cambridge, MA - The women's water polo team finished the Northern Championship with a 16-1 win over Connecticut College, giving the Bears third place. Leading the way for Brown was freshman Kristin Cuthbertson who was all over the pool netting five goals while also assisting on another four and grabbed four steals in the defensive end.
Freshman Emily Schwartz was another big contributor in the Bears win, recording two goals, three assists and two steals. Rounding out the scoring for Brown was junior Elizabeth Balassone and sophomore Roxanne Palmer both tallied two goals while juniors Caitlin Fahey and Karlyanna Kopra sophomore Alexis Blaxberg and Ally Wyatt and freshman Daniela Aramayo each posted a goal in the win. Sophomore Anne Deggelman recorded 13 blocks in the net for the Bears.
The Bears will host the Eastern Championships next weekend, where the top teams in the East will all take to the pool at the Smith Swim Center. The tournament kicks off on Saturday, April 29 and will wrap up on Sunday.
