New London, CT - Twelve different players scored goals in the 19th-ranked Brown women's water polo team's (15-8, 2-2 Northern Div.) 19-3 victory over CWPA Northern Division opponent Connecticut College on Tuesday night. The Bears dominated from the opening sprint, taking an 11-1 lead after one quarter and coasting the rest of the way.
Junior Alexis Blaxberg (Pinecrest, FL) led the Bears with three goals and four steals. Seniors Claire Angyal (Mosman, Australia) and Paige Lansing (Newport Beach, CA), sophomores Alexandra Ferguson (Seattle, WA) and Rory Stanton (Danville, CA), and freshman Sarah Glick (Bonita, CA) all had two goals, while seniors Caitlin Fahey (Bellevue, WA) and Elizabeth Balassone (Los Altos, CA), juniors Emily Schwartz (Miami Beach, FL) and Ally Wyatt (Ypsilanti, MI), sophomore Kristin Cuthbertson (Rancho Santa Fe, CA), and freshman Lauren Presant (Poway, CA) had one goal each. Glick added four assists, while fellow first-year Presant had three. Stanton had two assists and two steals, and Wyatt had a pair of steals as well. Freshman goalkeeper Stephanie Laing (Ann Arbor, MI) had eight saves.
The Bears will finish the week with three Northern Division match-ups. On Thursday, they will travel to Cambridge for a tilt with Harvard, then finish the regular season with a pair of games against Utica and Queens Colleges on Saturday.
