Oneonta, NY - In the first of five games against CWPA Northern Division opponents in eight days, the 19th-ranked Brown women's water polo team (14-8, 1-2 Northern Div.) dropped a 16-5 decision to #13 Hartwick on Saturday. The Hawks dominated throughout, scoring at least three goals in each quarter, which the Bears were able to do just once.
Freshman Lauren Presant (Poway, CA) led the Bears with two goals and three ejections drawn. Senior Elizabeth Balassone (Los Altos, CA) had a goal and three ejections drawn, and fellow senior Caitlin Fahey (Bellevue, WA) scored once and drew two ejections. Junior Ally Wyatt (Ypsilanti, MI) scored the other goal, while freshman Sarah Glick (Bonita, CA) drew two ejections. Freshman Stephanie Laing (Ann Arbor, MI) had eight saves in the cage.
The Bears will hope to forget the loss quickly, as they face Connecticut College on Tuesday, Harvard on Thursday, and both Utica College and Queens College to close the regular season on Saturday, all on the road.
