Women's Water Polo Defeats Iona, 7-1, In ECAC Tournament Action

PRINCETON, NJ - The women's water polo team opened up competition at the ECAC Championships on Saturday with a commanding victory over Iona, defeating the Gaels 7-1. Junior Sonia Lamel and freshman Jamie Relth led the Bears with two goals each.

In addition to Lamel and Relth, freshman Allison Biner, junior Lauren McGeoch, and senior Melissa Iagulli each added one goal.

Defensively, Relth led the way with three steals, while sophomore Diana Livermore drew two kick-outs. In net, junior Keira Heggie stopped 14 shots for the Bears.

Brown continues action at the Tournament Saturday eventing, taking on Princeton at 8:30 p.m.
