PROVIDENCE, RI - The women's water polo team improved to 3-2 on the season with a 12-4 victory over Bucknell on Sunday afternoon. Freshman Jamie Relth (Carlsbad, CA) led the way with three goals, two assists, and five steals.
Junior Sonia Lamel (Lafayette, CA) also had a strong game, scoring two goals and adding two assists and one steal. Juniors Jackie Parente (Los Angeles, CA) and Jeanie Ward-Waller (San Antonio, TX) each scored two goals and each added one steal, while Ward-Waller tallied one block.
Brown's other goal was scored by freshman Allison Biner (Moraga, CA), who also tallied one assist. Senior Tori Barbata (Kailua, HI) added two steals and drew one ejection, while sophomore Ailey Crow (Palo Alto, CA) had one block.
In net, junior Keira Heggie (Miami, FL) stopped eight shots, while allowing one goal in the first half, while freshman Katherine Cummings (La Jolla, CA) had five saves, while allowing three goals, in the second half.
Brown continues action next Saturday, March 1, hosting the second Brown Invitational in the Smith Swim Center.
