Seaside, CA - Sophomore Lauren Presant (Poway, CA) had six goals to lead the Brown women's water polo team (5-9) to its second one-goal win in as many days on Thursday, 14-13 over Cal State Monterey Bay. The game was a relatively low-scoring one in the first half, as the Bears took a 4-3 lead into halftime, but the teams exploded offensively in the second half, combining for 21 goals in the two periods.
Senior Alexis Blaxberg (Pinecrest, FL) had three goals in the game for the Bears. Sophomore Sarah Glick (Bonita, CA) had two goals to go with her team-high four assists and two drawn ejections. Freshman Joanna Wohlmuth (Manhattan Beach, CA) added two goals, while freshman Katherine Stanton (Danville, CA) had one. In the cage, sophomore Stephanie Laing (Ann Arbor, MI) had two saves in the cage.
The Bears had previously been scheduled to take on UC Santa Cruz as well, but that game was cancelled for scheduling reasons.
On Friday, the Bears will head north to take on 10th-ranked UC Davis, the first of three games against top ten teams. Game time is 4 p.m. PT.
